Looking back –
Yesterday started out on the cool side. However, the coolest overnight temperatures were on the eastern side of the Show Me State. Farmington and Cape Girardeau started out at 28-degrees. Butler started the day at 36-degrees.
Temperatures across Missouri were a bit warmer than on Thursday, but not quite as warm as the upper 70s that were out in western Kansas. However, St. Joseph picked up on the 70-degree readings, as they topped out at 71-degrees. The daytime high in Butler was 66-degrees.
Two things to note for today. Cooler temperatures and northerly winds. A cold front is making its way through the state. Winds behind the frontal boundary will come out of the north and be rather gusty. We could see gusts up to 20 m.p.h. across west central Missouri.
Tonight, we’ll be back down in the mid-30s. Right now, I’m not seeing any frost or freeze related advisories issued by the National Weather Service. I’ll keep an eye on any advisories being released.
Tomorrow, we’ll be under the influence of an area of high pressure as is slides down from the Canadian Plains into the Dakotas. It will be a challenge for temperatures to get out of the 50’s. Look for highs in the upper 50s around the area.
Temperatures for the rest of the 7 Day Forecast will be in the 60s for afternoon highs, maybe even back to 70-degrees by Thursday. After Saturday night, overnight lows will be back into the lower 40s through next week.
Here’s your Quickcast –
Tonight – Clear and cold. Winds calm down, lows in the mid-30s.
Saturday – Clear and cool. Southerly winds of 5-10 m.p.h. Highs in the upper 50s.
Saturday night – Mostly clear and cold. Lows near 40-degrees.
Sunday – Mostly sunny, and warmer. Highs in the lower 60s.
