Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk radio show can be heard on KMAM 1530AM, KMOE 92.1FM, and Online Here every Sunday from 2-3pm.
How it started
Back in January, 1995, Tom was attending the SHOT Show, the huge annual trade show for the firearms industry, when a casual conversation lead to the idea of a radio talk show about guns. Only six weeks later he was on the air, being beamed to three satellites and 20 radio stations.
One famous radio industry consultant told Tom the show would be lucky to be on the air for a year. He didn’t know Tom…or how many gun owners there are in the U.S. (there’s a gun in almost half the homes in the country. Now, more than 19 years later, Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk® is carried in more than 130 markets across the U.S., on XM satellite radio services, and is heard by thousands every week via web downloads. Gresham had been named the Shooting Sports Writer of the Year and has been included in Talkers Magazine’s list of 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts In America!
What we do
Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk® is broadcast live from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Eastern time every Sunday afternoon. If you can’t find it on a station near you, call your local talk-format radio station and ask them to begin running Gun Talk.
On Gun Talk®, we want to keep three things in mind: Safety, personal responsibility and common courtesy. Other than that, we’ll talk about anything you like having to do with guns — particular firearms, ammunition, different types of recreational and competitive shooting, hunting, even politics. And you don’t have to agree with the host to participate and be treated politely.
What we don’t do
We do not talk about conspiracy theories, though — no black helicopters, please. We also don’t get rude. That’s, well, rude.
We also take plenty of time to talk to you, our listeners. Your views, advice and questions are the driving force of the show. During the show, you can call Tom at 866-TALK GUNS (866-825-5486). Let us know what you think about the gun-related issues of the day.
