Heartsaver CPR/AED Class

A Heartsaver CPR/AED class will be held at Bates County Memorial Hospital on January 24 from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. This class is certified by the American Heart Association.

The class will be held in the BCMH training center, located in the basement level beneath the Emergency Department. Cost for this class is $25. Class size is limited.

1/7 Lost Dog

There is a lost dog in the Foster area. He is a black lab with the name of Doug. He is chipped and has a shock collar as well as an orange collar.

He was last seen 2 miles east of Foster, MO on January 3rd. If you have seen this dog, please call 660-832-4218 or 660-424-1521. There is a $300 reward for his return.

QuitSmart Class at Cass Regional Medical Center

Cass Regional Medical Center will host QuitSmart®, a free smoking cessation program, starting January 29, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in Conference Rooms 1 and 2, located directly inside the main entrance of Cass Regional at 2800 E. Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville.

The QuitSmart program combines powerful treatments to help you break free from tobacco. QuitSmart consists of five sessions over a six-week period. The dates are as follows: January 29; February 5; February 19; February 21 and February 26.

QuitSmart was created by Dr. Robert Shipley, director of the Duke University Quit Smoking Clinic, and is taught by certified QuitSmart leader. In a study of five U.S. Air Force bases, 66% of QuitSmart participants were still smoke-free six months after quitting, compared to 16-30% of those in four other stop smoking programs.

The QuitSmart kit includes a guidebook, a hypnosis CD, and a patented cigarette substitute.
