Southside Lumber Now Hiring

Southside Lumber in Butler is currently looking to fill positions in their Sawmill.

Hume Fair and Rodeo Princess Candidate, Blayk Sears

Blayk Sears is the 5 year old daughter of Matthew and Kate Sears. She will start Kindergarten this fall. Blayk enjoys pageants, baseball, swimming and her chickens. She loves playing with LOL Dolls and Barbies. When Blayk grows up she wants to be a Doctor. Her favorite part of the Hume Fair is spending time with all her family, eating snow cones, and chasing sheep. 2019 Hume Fair and Rodeo

The 2019 Hume Fair and Rodeo is July 30th thru August 3rd.  Some of the events scheduled for this year are the Draft Horse Pull, Ice Cream Social, Kiddie Pedal Pull and Hume Olympics,

Talent Show, 5K Run, Baby Contest, Parade, Car Show and of course the rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights.  There will also be a street dance by Rekoil after the rodeo on Saturday, August 3rd

Gerald Callahan, 100, of Butler

Funeral services for Gerald Callahan will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.  Visitation will be prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler.  Contributions in lieu of flowers to Fulton Street Church of Christ.  Online condolences, www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Gerald Weldon Callahan, age 100 of Butler, Missouri died Monday, July 22, 2019 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri.  He was born August 29, 1918 to Joseph Calvin and Mary Jane Cofer Callahan in Johnstown, Missouri.

Gerald is survived by his wife, June Callahan of Butler, Missouri; five children, Gary Callahan and wife Sandy of Liberty, Missouri, Carol Taylor and husband John of Amoret, Missouri, Jay Scott Underwood and Jeannie of Butler, Missouri, Neil Underwood and wife Tammy of Ft. Scott, Kansas and Richard Underwood and wife Donita of Warsaw, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
