|The 2019 Apple Festival in Appleton City is Saturday, September 28th. Events are scheduled from 10 to 7 pm. There will be a craft show, great food, kids activities, wine tasting, pie eating contest, live music from Late Fees and closing out the day will be the Kickin’ Chicken Dinner sponsored by the Ellett Memorial Hospital Foundation. They have books for children and adults, fiction, non-fiction, romance, westerns, science fiction, crime novels, biographies, short stories, picture books and lots more. All paperback books are 25 cents a piece and hardback books are $1 a piece. Whether you are a die-hard reader or you just want to expand your personal library at home, now is your chance. The family of the former Tiona Truck Line will host an employee reunion on Saturday, October 5th in El Dorado Springs Missouri.

Tiona Truck Line was formerly owned and operated in Butler, Kansas and Texas by the late Jim Tiona, wife frosty of Butler, son Jim Tiona of Texas and daughter Jill Tiona of Butler.
