Bates County Personal Property Taxes due December 31st

A reminder for those of you that haven’t paid your Personal Property Taxes, the deadline is quickly approaching. There are a few changes this year. A few reminders for those still needing to pay before the December 31st 2019 deadline.

Personal Property Taxes will now be paid the Administrative Office on the southwest Corner of the Butler Square. There is an outside drop box on the east side of the Administrative building. The Bates County Collector’s Office will be open on Tuesday, December 31st.

For those mailing last minute taxes, on December 31st . Remember,  the post office postmarks anything dropped in the outside mailbox after 2 m on December 31st with a January 1st 2020 postmark date.

If you are mailing your Bates County Personal Property Taxes at the last minute, you will need to go inside to make sure the Post Master adjusts the stamp to reflect the December 31st postmark date.

Any mailed from the outside mailbox at the post office after 2 pm will have a postmark date of January 1st and those late payments will be subject to fines.

The deadline to avoid penalty is Tuesday, December 31st. Payments must be made at the Administrative building on the Southwest Corner of the Butler Square.

Annual Christmas Parade – “Winter Wonderland”

The Butler Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7th. Schedule for the evening:

4:00 – Line up begins at Butler High School

5:30 – Judging of the parade entries

6:00 – Parade leaves the high school

6:10 – Parade enters the square

Participants may join by just showing up on December 7th beginning at 4pm and will be assigned a place in the parade. Categories and judging include churches, organizations, tractors, horses, old vehicles and commercial.

The Chamber of Commerce request that no Santa’s be displayed on the floats. Pre-Registration is accepted on their Facebook page or their website

Santa will be joining the parade and Santa’s house on the Butler Square will be open after the parade until 9pm.

61 children are left on the Butler Masonic Lodge Toys for Tykes Christmas

list. We are asking the community to help make sure these children get

adopted by the December 7th deadline. To adopt a child contact the

Butler Masonic Lodge by phone . We have until Saturday,

December 7th to make sure all these children have a gift to open
