The Bates County Elks Annual Hoop Shoot is Saturday, December 21st, 1:30 pm at the Butler Elementary Gym. This is a free throw contest for kids ages 8-13. It is free to all participants and provides an opportunity to compete, connect and succeed thru hard work and healthy competition. Winners advance thru Lodge, District, State and Regional contests to reach the National Finals where champions will have their name inscribed in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The JV/V Butler Bears and Lady Bears will be at home December 12th as they host the Archie Whirlwinds. JV games start at 5 pm with Varsity games to follow.

The Butler Elementary School’s Student Council is sponsoring a food drive competition between dens December 3rd through December 18th.
Bring in any non-perishable food items to school and all the items collected will go to the Butler Community Food Pantry to benefit those in needs.
A very worthy cause and the den with the highest food pyramid will win a special treat.
