What: Bates County Route O CLOSED between Southeast 1766 Road and Southeast 756 Road west of Appleton City

When: 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 8

Details: MoDOT crews replacing a deteriorating drain pipe underneath the road

Traffic Impacts:

  • Route O CLOSED only where crews are set up working
  • Drivers will be able to get to driveways and entrances on either side of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through the work zone
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

(Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule)

Butler: Lifelong Resident Need the Help of the Community

Lifelong Butler resident is in need of financial help from our community. Bobby is the husband of Mary Jackson a former Country Mart and FM 92.1 employee. Bobby has stage 4 cancer and has been without employment since June of 2019. A love fund for cash donations has been set up at Adrian Bank in Butler. Any donation will assist this family with food, heat, gas, and medical expenses. If you would like to make a donation the love fund is set-up under the name Bobby Jackson at the Butler Branch of the Adrian Bank.

Dodgeball Tournament Sign-Up Now

It’s Duck, Dip, Dive, Dodgeball!  The Bates County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting a Dodgeball Tournament at the Butler High School, Feb 1st starting at 9 am.  Cost is $100.00 per team with a minimum of 6 players. All participants must be 15 years or older. Monday Night Bingo with the Adrian Optimist Club

Play Monday night bingo at the Adrian Optimist Club.  Doors open, Monday, January 13th at 5 and bingo starts at 7 pm.  Concessions are available on site.  This week’s Hot Ball Jackpot is $2300.00, Blackout Jackpot is $2050.00, King of Diamonds starts at $6190.00 with $3095.00 take, 17 cards remaining.  You must be 16 years old to play bingo.  The Adrian Optimist Building is located at 11092 NW County Road 41 in Adrian.  Monday night Bingo with the Adrian Optimist Club, Monday, January13th.
