Join us on Wednesday morning, February 5th, at 10 am when Kira, from our local McDonald’s, will be joining us in the studios of FM 92. She will be sharing, literally, the newest in breakfast sandwiches on their menu. You’ll have the opportunity to hear all about what they’re now serving up AND hear how the taste test turns out as the staff of FM 92 will be sampling and offering reviews of these latest McDonald’s menu items.

The Bates County Memorial Hospital will have a Weight Management Support Group meeting on Tuesday, February 4th and 18th. Discussion includes Portion Distortion: appropriate portions for all foods.
The support group will meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays, with afternoon and evening group meetings available (2:00 pm and 6:00 pm). Registered Dietitian Jennifer Lindquist will lead the support group.

The Rich Hill 4th of July Committee has announced that the entertainer for the 2020 4th of July celebration in Rich Hill will be Easton Corbin. He is best known for hits like “All Over The Road”, “Baby Be My Love Song”, “Lovin You Is Fun”, etc. Easton Corbin will perform on Friday, July 3rd at 8 pm at the West “circle” park in Rich Hill. This is a free concert so make plans to attend now. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Party Like A Patriot”. FM-92 will provide more details later as they become available.
The Adrian Optimist Club is pleased to honor Students of the Month from the Miami, Ballard, and Adrian schools. Criteria for this honor center on outstanding academic and civic achievement and school spirit. Staff at each of the schools make the selection, and their decision is based on expansion of these criteria. Selection is based on the criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task will come to play in it. Each student is honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks”.
The Ballard Student of the Month is Senior, Brianna Pray daughter of Melody and Tony Pray. Brianna is in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. Mr. Bergen states, “Brianna Pray is much deserving of student of the month for her kind and respectful attitude toward fellow students and staff.” Technology teacher, Cheryl Murchie states, “Brianna works very hard to make sure she accomplishes the goals she has set for herself. She will help anyone that needs help. She is a great role model to her classmates. She has a great sense of humor. You’ve got to watch the smiles but she does have them.” Brianna plans to go to Metropolitan Community College then on to University of Nebraska.
