Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Now Available in Linn County

 Linn County Early Childhood Advisory Council today announced it will fund Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Linn County, Kansas. Dolly Parton Imagination Library will provide books for children ages birth to five thank to Kansas Masonic Literacy Center and Kansas Health Foundation Grant.

“We’re excited that the Dolly Parton Imagination Library is available for the children in Linn County,” said Janet Reynolds, La Cygne Librarian. Parents as Teachers is the Local Champion for this Linn County initiative.

St. Patrick Catholic Church Rummage and Bake Sale, March 5th-7th

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Butler is holding a rummage sale and a bake sale on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 5th, 6th, and 7th in the church’s Education Building at 400 West Nursery Street.  Hours are Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-3, and Saturday 8-12.  They will have a wide variety of items to purchase including some tasty baked goods.  St. Patrick Catholic Church, rummage and bake sale, March 5th thru the 7th in the church’s Education Building.


The hospital’s Grief and Loss Support Group is for all who are struggling to cope or just need to talk through their grief or loss. The group is open to those who have lost a loved one, or are experiencing grief or loss due to other traumatic life events. The group meets every second Thursday of the month.

The next group will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 2 – 3pm in meeting room AB at the Bates County Memorial Hospital. The facilitator will be Jennifer Eick-Jakiela, LCSW, Behavioral Health Consultant with Family Care Clinics

The group is always free – no reservations required.
