The Archie water service is back on! The city of Archie will be calling for a precautionary water boil advisory until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation and patience. That’s a precautionary water boil advisory until further notice.

Amsterdam September 2nd Saturday Event

Saturday, September 12th is the monthly Amsterdam 2nd Saturday event.  From 7-3 the public is invited to Main Street in Amsterdam to eat, shop, and play the local businesses and vendors.  Food, craft, knick-knack, or garage sale vendors, anyone who wants to sell anything is welcome to set up a booth at no charge.  From candy corn to steaks, new, used, and upcycled items, antiques, home décor and crafts, you will find a little bit of everything.  This event is free to the public and free to those who wish to set up a booth and sell their wares.  Local businesses will be open for your shopping and dining pleasure.  There will also be a Grand Opening event for the new Farm Market.  It all takes place on Main Street.  The  Amsterdam 2nd Saturday event this Saturday, September 12th.

Appleton City Girls Day Out

Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City is hosting a GIRLS DAY OUT on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.at the Hospital.  Please come join them for their 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Wellness & Awareness Day.

 Come receive your pre-registered annual mammogram by Diagnostic Imaging Center Mobile Coach and receive a special gift. There will be Breast Cancer speakers sharing their life stories, talking about genetics and facts of Breast Cancer. Door prizes awarded, fellowship, stories from survivors, caregivers and support will be shared.

A light lunch served and treats to indulge. Vendors will be set up for your guilty pleasures and essential information available. If you or someone you know is a Breast Cancer survivor, please let them know who and how long, so that they may recognize them and celebrate.

Uninsured women 40-49 that meet the guidelines can apply for funding of a mammogram through our “Show Me Healthy Women Program”.  Call EMH at660-476-2111 and speak with April Looney or Julee Snyder for info or help scheduling a mammogram.

Appleton City Blood Drive

West Central Missouri Community Action Agency is hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross on September 17 from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. at their office at 106. W. Fourth Street, Appleton City.

Call 800-Red-Cross to schedule an appointment or go online at www.redcrossblood.org.  Enter WCMCAA to bring up the drive.  Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are preferred.

There will also be a Flu Shot Clinic on the same day as the blood drive, September 17 11:00 – 4:00.  For those without insurance the cost is $32.00 and they accept payment via:  Cash, check, PayPal, Venmo or cashapp, they will also accept the following insurance:  UHC, Aetna, Humana and Coventry along with BCBS of KC.
