Renaissance Festival Update

Unfortunately, the 2020 Kansas City Renaissance Festival has been cancelled due to COVID-19. However, we are amidst planning an event like never before: a Drive-Thru Renaissance Festival experience! 

BONNER SPRINGS, KS, (September 15, 2020) – We promised you wouldn’t have to wait long to join us for a Turkey Leg! The first-ever Kansas City Renaissance Festival on Parade is a drive-through experience featuring over 20 of your favorite Festival foods. There will be exciting entertainment, featured artisans, and a chance to support Kansas City’s great Renaissance Tradition from the comfort and safety of your vehicle!

Join the Parade weekends of September 26th & 27th and October 3rd & 4th.This once-in-a-lifetime event will have a limited number of tickets sold. All tickets must be purchased online and will be sold for specific dates and arrival times. Each vehicle is $20 (sales tax included). Purchase your tickets early in order to reserve your preferred date and time. 

As a thank-you for attending the event, each vehicle will receive a goodie bag filled with surprises from sponsors and partners. 

This is a Parade! Vehicles will follow the same 1.5-mile, one-way leisurely route directly through the realm. Plan for a multi-hour experience on your exciting visit to the village with tasty treats, free fun, games, and activities including in vehicle games like Trivia, Festival-Find-it along the way! Indulge in your favorite Festival foods including: Turkey Legs, Chicken’n’Waffles, Corn Dogs, Kettle Corn, Pickles, Curly Fries and much more. Food purchases are not included in the vehicle ticket price. Food service will be conducted at vehicle windows following health and safety protocols.

Be on the Lookout for This Stolen Truck

On 9/14/2020 the Bates County Sheriffs Office took a report of a stolen vehicle from the Foster Elevator.

The vehicle is a 1994 Dodge Ram that is black over grey. The truck has a roll bar with off road lights and a diamond plate tool box in the bed.

Annual Children’s Center Casino Night online 9/17-9/22

The Annual Children’s Center Casino Night makes a public service announcement. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Children’s Center has been unable to host the regular Casino Night and Mouse Races. Instead, they are changing the fundraising strategy.

They will be holding online silent auction. The auction will be held on 32auctions.com, a user-friendly platform for nonprofit auctions. It will begin at 8:00 am on September 17th and will include at 8:00 pm on September 22nd.

Join them for dinner, drinks, and closing bids as The Children’s Center Casino Night Auction has a “Watch Party” at the Pennell Restaurant on the Butler Square from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm on September 22nd. The Pennell is located at 102 west Ohio Street in Butler.

Studio M of Butler Introduces Barber Besty to the Salon

Butler welcomes a Barber to town. Studio M Hair Salon introduces Betsy Haylord to their staff.

Betsy is a graduate of The Academy of Hair Cut Designs of Springfield in 2008 , working at several Barber shops in the Springfield area prior to her relocation to Butler.

Betsy has 2 children in the Butler R-V School System and resides in Butler.

Betsy is now employed by the Studio M Salon located on Orange Street just north of Butler. The salon

now offers Barber service to the community, Barber Betsy specializes in hot towel and facial shaves,

fades, outlines and haircuts for men, women and children.

Like any Barber Shop, walk-ins are welcome. Barber Betsy is on duty Thursday and Friday from 9 until 3  and Saturday hours are 9 until 1.
