News for Bates County Clerk’s Office

Bates County Clerk Marlene Wainscott reminds you that requests for ballots to be mailed to you must be received by 5:00 p.m. on October 21st.   Voters wanting to vote absentee after October 21st can come to the County Clerk’s Office at 103 W. Dakota in Butler. 

If you are unable to come into the Bates County Clerk’s office please call 660-679-3371 and they will bring a ballot to the car. 

The Bates County Clerk’s office will be open 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday.  They will also be open Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and Saturday, October 31st from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.     A voter can vote absentee at the Bates County Clerk’s office up to and including November 2nd.    

Archie School Press Release

From the Desk of Jeff Kramer, Superintendent of the Archie R-V School District FM 92 brings you the following information

The Archie R-V School District is saddened to report that one of the district’s buildings was broken into over the weekend.

The person or persons that broke into the building caused damage to the interior and stole FFA fundraiser monies in the form of cash and checks. These funds were gathered directly from community members.

This is not just an attack on the district, but also all of the district’s patrons that gave of their finances to support the students of the district by giving to this specific fundraiser.

The local police department has been contacted and an investigation is underway. If you have any details or information that pertains to this incident, please notify the Archie Police Department at (816)430-5242.
