Traffic stop ends in arrest in Vernon County

According to Vernon County Sheriff’s Officials, a routine traffic stop resulted in one arrest in the early hours of Wednesday morning, July 28th. 47-year-old Bob Beisly III of Nevada, has been charged with Possession of Equipment or Part with Altered/Missing/False Identification Number, suspected methamphetamines were also located in the vehicle. Beisly is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

36th Annual Coin, Stamp, Postcard, Sport Memorabilia and Collectibles Show

The Barton-Jasper County Collector Association will be sponsoring the 36th Annual Summer Coin, Stamp, Postcard, Sports Memorabilia, and Collectibles show at the Carthage, Missouri Memorial Hall located at 407 South Garrison, Hwy 571, on Saturday, August 7th from 9am to 5pm.  Dealers from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee will offer 54 tables to buy, sell or trade.

Archie School District Hiring

Archie R-V School District is currently accepting applications for 2 full time positions for the 2021-2022 school year for Special Education Paraprofessionals. At least 60 college credit hours are required, or applicants must have passed the ParaPro Assessment. This position includes full benefits.

The Community Cafe Cancelled until Further Notice

The Community Café of Butler is a community service provided free meals to members of the community every Tuesday evening.

Due to the increase of Covid cases in our community the Community Café of Butler is cancelled until further notice. 

The Community Café did not make this decision lightly as they know many people enjoy and depend on this weekly meal.  But for the safety of the public, volunteers, local group, churches, and businesses that serve this meal they must discontinue this serve until further notice.
