With construction underway over the late summer and to date. Superintendent, Darin Carter made these comments on the construction at the Butler High School.
Progress continues on many projects at Butler R-V School District. In April of 2020 the voters of the district approved a 6 million dollar bond issue. Those dollars, combined with district saved funds, are being used to complete the following:
*New classrooms on the JH/HS campus to house 6th grade
*Extensive HVAC upgrades at the elementary school
*New auxiliary gym at the JH/HS
*Remodel of the south entrance and restrooms to the Butler High School gymnasium/auditorium
*New entrance and administration area at the elementary school
*Improved parking and traffic flow at the elementary school
*New weight room/training area at the JH/HS
*New choir/band room at the Butler JH and HS
*Remodel of the current weight room for additional Industrial Technology classroom space
*Remodel of the classroom and restroom space in the G building at the JH/HS
*Several energy savings projects, including upgrading lighting, thermostat controls, and a solar project
The Butler School District is excited about the projects and appreciates everyone’s patience as they progress. With the difficulty procuring materials and labor, timelines and original plans have been altered several times to work with what they can, when they have it. At the completion of projects, the district looks forward to hosting an open house to showcase the new Butler High School Facilities.
