Adrian Reminders of Scheduled Events

The Adrian Chamber of Commerce Meetings are held the first Monday of each month with registration at 11:30 and lunch at noon at the Adrian Community Library Building, located at 116 East Main Street in Adrian. Adrian’s growth is supported by decisions made at this community meeting.

The Adrian Chamber reminds its members that Chamber dues are renewed by January 1st of each year. The banner fees for advertising your business are $50.00 also due every January 1st.

For 2022, some of the Adrian events will be the annual Adrian Chamber Banquet, which will be held on February 26th at the Frontier Village Community Room. Registration at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 6:30. The cost is $25.00 per person payable at the door. Those planning to attend should RSVP to Jennifer at 816-721-5477.

The Adrian Chamber of Commerce has set the date for the 2022 City Wide Garage Sale, this event will be held on June 4th. Frontier Village will also be open for the Adrian Business Expo and Crafts, food and Garage Sale Booths on that sale date. Chamber members will be offered free booth space, non-members will be charged $20.00 for a booth and $5.00 for electricity.

News from Linn County Sheriff’s Office

On February 13, 2022, at approximately 10:50am, a 911 call was received at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The caller stated that her ex-husband came to her rural Mound City, Ks. home and threatened her and others at the home. The caller stated the male had a rifle with him and he brandished the gun during the threat. The subject then left the residence as family members were notifying law enforcement. Linn County Deputies arrived at the scene, took the report at set out to locate the alleged suspect. Linn County Deputies located his vehicle at a rural Blue Mound residence. The alleged suspect is known to have violent tendencies, so a perimeter of the property was established. Negotiations with the alleged suspect were met with negative results. Linn County Deputies surrounded the home; the man exited the residence, and he was taken into custody without incident. Warrants are pending for the arrest of the subject. Further information will be available upon issuance of the warrant. Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained for the property and the weapon that was allegedly used during the incident was recovered in the subject’s vehicle.

On February 13, 2022, at 2:57am a call to 911 was made to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The caller stated that he believed he had shot an intruder in his home and the intruder left on foot.

The call came from a residence in rural Mound City, Ks. Linn County Deputies arrived on the scene and evaluated the area finding no evidence of any person being shot. However, it was evident that the homeowner had shot a gun in the house as damage was present.

The homeowner believes that he knows the intruder and identified the intruder as a locally known individual who had stayed with the homeowner in the past, for a short period of time.

The subject is not considered a threat to the community, it is believed that this is an isolated incident as the homeowner and intruder once resided together. The subject is being sought for questioning in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
