The Bates County Clerk’s office will conduct a public test of the electronic tabulating equipment on Thursday, July 21st at 9:00 a.m. in the Bates County Administration Building at 103 W. Dakota Street, Butler.
The Bates County Clerk’s Office at 103 W. Dakota Street, Butler will be open on Saturday, July 30th from 8:00 a.m. to Noon for the purpose of absentee voting.

AMORET/AMSTERDAM PRECINCT: Miami R-1 School,7638 NW State Route J, Amoret, (Miami R-1) Voters in the City of Amoret, City of Amsterdam, and Homer, Charlotte, West Point, Elkhart Townships vote here. Note: All West Boone Township votes at the Drexel Community Center in Drexel.
BALLARD PRECINCT: Ballard School, 10247 NE State Route 18, Butler (Ballard R-2) All voters in the school district vote here.
BUTLER PRECINCT: Butler High School Gymnasium, 420 S Fulton, Butler (Butler R-5) All voters in the school district vote here.
DREXEL PRECINCT: Drexel Community Center, 410 E. Bates, Drexel (Drexel R-4 & Miami R-1) Voters in the City of Drexel, Village of Merwin, and all West Boone Township vote here.

The polling places will be open from the hours of 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. during which time any person properly registered to vote in the County of Bates and has an acceptable form of ID, will be given the opportunity to cast his or her ballot.

A Cornhole Tournament is on the Bates County Fair schedule for Friday, July 8th, at 11:00. The tournament is hosted by Bates County Farm Bureau, for 4-H and FFA members up to age 18 only.
Various prizes will be awarded during the tournament. One lucky team will receive the grand prize of $50.00 dollars cash. Teams of 2 should register by 10:30 on July 8th, prior to the tournament.
The Bates County Farm Bureau Cornhole tournament will be held Friday, July 8th, at 11:00 am. The action will take place just south of the sale arena in the grassy area.
