Drexel VFW and Fishing Dock Squirrel Tournament October 8th

The 9TH  annual Fishing Dock Bar and Grill and the Drexel VFW post #4347 and Camp Valor will host their Annual Squirrel Tournament on Saturday, October 8TH t.

Sign-up will be at 6:00 am and weigh-in at 12:30  at the Fishing Dock 101 South West Outer Road in Archie. Entry fees are $20.00 per 2-person team with a $5.00 extra for the big Squirrel pot.

The 9TH Annual Squirrel Tournament will be paying the top 3 places 60-30 and 10 percent of the total weight of 3 Squirrels. Heaviest Squirrel must be marked. The Big Squirrel Pot will be 100 percent payout. Squirrels must be harvested on the day of the tournament.  

Early sign-ups do not need to show up at 6 am.

Pecan Store Open in Nevada

Osage Valley Pecan location in Butler closed in the late spring of this year. The Media is informing the public and letting everyone know that Missouri Northern Pecan Growers recently purchased part of Osage Pecans business and will be carrying their best-selling items!

The company will be located in Nevada and they are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to meeting, serving, and building a long-term relationship with Osage customers!

Lamar: Barco Out-Door Movie Theater

If you are looking for something to do as a family that will be entertaining

Archie: Pre-Registration for Festival Events

The Archie Festival Committee is looking for vendors,  for their fall festival, those interested may go to the festival website and fill out the registration form. The festival will hit Archie on Saturday, October 8th.

Other events that need advance attention and registration will be the Archie Festival Parade, which will include cars, tractors, horses,  floats,  organizations, and businesses that would like to promote their business or just have fun. The parade hits Main Street at 10:45 am.

The baking of the Apple Pie” contest is sponsored by Koehns Bakery of Butler. Pies in the contest must be turned in at the Vortex in Archie between the hours of 8:30 am and 9:30 am on the day of the festival for judging. All the rules and regulations may be found on the Archie Festival Committee Facebook page or on the KMAM KMOE Facebook page as we have shared all the details.
