At approximately 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 31st, Warsaw Police Officers attempted to apprehend a subject with an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary.
The subject exited a vehicle and fled on foot. A search was conducted, and the School Resource Officer was contacted due to the proximity to Warsaw North School. The driver of the vehicle was arrested by Warsaw Police, and charges are pending for Hindering Prosecution. The vehicle was towed by Law Enforcement. The subject is not believed to pose a threat to society at this time.
The subject who fled from Warsaw Police Officers on Wednesday, August 31st, is Gary Shafton. He has a no bond felony warrant for Burglary.
