BCMH Welcomes Farid Namin, MD, Gastroenterologist

Bates County Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome a new provider to its Surgical Services department.  Farid Namin, MD is a gastroenterologist and is currently seeing patients on an outpatient basis two times a month.  

Dr. Namin said Dr. William Joyce, General Surgeon for BCMH, was instrumental in raising his interest in providing gastroenterological care in Bates County.  On his first visit to the hospital, Dr. Namin said he was very impressed that the rural community boasted such a large facility with a modern surgical suite and extensive services. 

Dr. Namin attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Health and Science Chicago Medical School, and the American University School of Medicine.  He received his Master’s Degree in medical sciences and his medical degree in 1995.  He then joined a research fellowship program at the University of Illinois, Division of Hematology and Oncology.

In 1998, Dr. Namin moved to Kansas City, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Kansas University Medical Center. He has done extensive research and is published in areas of functional bowel and motility disorders.

BCMH Welcomes William Herre, MD, Urologist

Bates County Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce William Herre, MD is now seeing patients through its Outpatient Specialty Clinics, located in the hospital at 615 W. Nursery in Butler.

Dr. Herre completed his residency in urology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He received his B.S. in 2006 at the Loyola University Chicago and his M.D. in 2012 at The University of Kansas School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

Dr. Herre practices all aspects of urology but has a particular interest and expertise in minimally-invasive treatment of kidney stones, enlarged prostates and robotic surgery. Dr. Herre has presented at numerous national and regional meetings and has published numerous articles.
