Butler: Aquatic Center Now Hiring

The Butler Aquatic Center is now accepting applications for persons interested in employment at the Butler Aquatic Center. Lifeguard candidates must be 15 years of age by June 1st 2023. Candidates must be or be able to become Red Cross-Certified Lifeguards.  Pre-employment and post-employment random drug screening are required for the lifeguard position.

Applications should be submitted by 5 pm on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 to accommodate the City’s training schedule. You may contact Butler City Hall by calling 660-679-4182 and make arrangements to receive an application or go to www.cityofbutlermo.com to print an application.

Butler Saddle Club Rodeo/ Royalty Wanted

The Butler Saddle Club Rodeo is now accepting 2023 Rodeo Queen and Princess Candidates. The Butler Rodeo is set for the weekend of June 16th, 17th and 18th.

The Deadline for candidates to sign-up is set of April 28th at 6 pm. The following information is the qualifications for those interested in running for the Butler Saddle Club Queen and Princess title.

Rodeo Queen Candidates will be judged on :
4 categories: ticket sales, personality, appearance, and horsemanship. The Candidate is required to ride a horse. All candidates will receive 10% of total ticket sales regardless of placings. The winner will receive the title, crown, and buckle. The winner will also have a chance to receive a saddle as well. 

Rodeo Princess Candidates will be judged on:
3 categories: ticket sales, personality, and appearance. All candidates will receive 10% of total ticket sales regardless of placings. The winner will receive the title, crown, and buckle. The princess candidates are welcome to ride a horse if they have one.

The informative meeting is scheduled for April 28@6:00pm. The meeting will be held at Butler Saddle Club arena located at the Bates County Fairgrounds.

Dr. Miller Guest Speaker April 3rd Talk-Time

Doctor Jim Miller of Bates County Memorial Hospital will make himself available on Monday at 10 am on 92.1 for part two of “ Talk-Time”. 92.1 will feature Dr. Miller as the guest speaker on the subject of the issue “ Hospital Tax to Maintain the Ambulance Service” which will appear on the April 4th ballot.
