Last week for Butler Youth Advocacy to be open this year.
The Bates County Youth Advocacy Council would like to say thanks to CASEY’S, MCDONALD’S, SONIC, FARMER’S INSURANCE(Heather Diehl), LUTHERAN LADIES, METHODIST LADIES, SHELTER INSURANCE(Bryan Tippie), OSAGE VALLEY, CATTLEMEN, GARY AND EVELYN MARROW, FOOD PANTRY, GOOD SHEPHERD HOSPICE. We would also like to thank the BUTLER CHURCH OF CHRIST and BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH for putting together food boxes for the families of our community. Thank you LIVING WORD CHURCH for the Walmart gift and also the BUTLER THRIFT SHOP( Pine and Havana st). Also thanks for all the hygiene product for the youth of our community. As we draw this year to a close this will be the last week for this school year. April 27th will be the last day open for this school year.
Community Choir Concert April 30th
The Public is invited to the 20th Annual Celebration of Church Music, to be held Sunday afternoon, April 30, at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Butler.
Featured musicians will include the popular Butler Brass and the unique Community Choir, with voices from numerous Butler Churches. Soloists and small groups will include vocalists and instrumentalists from congregations across Bates County.
A free-will offering will be taken to support the Community Outreach Programs of the Butler Ministerial Alliance.
You won’t want to miss this inspiring and enjoyable concert, with

Montrose: Calling all Bakers! The contest is ON!
JUST ONE OF THE MANY MONTROSE FESTIVAL EVENTS THIS YEAR WILL BE THE BAKING CONTEST. IT’S THE 5TH ANNUAL AND THE RULES ARE…. YOU MAY ENTER AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT, ALL BAKED GOODS GO ON SALE AFTER THE CONTEST, THERE IS NO NEED TO PRERESISTER AND ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE MONTROSE FESTIVAL EXPENSES.
BAKED GOODS WILL NEED TO ARRIVE AT THE MONTROSE VFW HALL BETWEEN 9 AND 11 AM. JUDGING STARTS AT 11 AM JUDGING IS BASED ON FOUR THINGS. TASTE, APPEARANCE CREATIVITY, AND DIFFICULTY THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT NOON.
THE ENTRY FEE COSTS 2 DOLLARS FOR ADULTS, KIDS UNER 10 ARE FREE, THE CATEGORIES ARE PIES, COOKIES, CAKES, AND BREADS. 1ST 2ND AND 3RD PLACE PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED IN ALL CATEGORIES.
