FM 92 spoke with Chanz Gerleman of Amsterdam on Thursday, December 12th after his Facebook post released information to the public regarding the construction of a new Casey’s General Store to be built in the City of Butler.
Chanz stated: “With the commercial lease he handled through Keller Williams last month Chanz closed this contract/transaction with the Casey’s company. This was a big one for Chanz, especially since he helped make this happen with a national corporation.”
This transaction was a unique one because what seemed like a simple transaction on the surface, in reality, involved many challenges…. including needing new easements created and agreed to, by the City of Butler. To include, extending a traffic intersection on 52 West to accommodate the fuel trucks, and variances needed to satisfy the Butler Planning and Zoning Committee, along with the Butler City Council.
As of December 12th, construction for the new Casey’s General Store has been approved and all permit transactions closed. The date for ground-breaking is yet to be announced, but the contract states that the easement must begin one year from the closing transaction.
To any and all who may want to follow the progress or see this achievement become a reality, feel free to visit Butler. The New Casey’s General Store will be located off the North-East corner of I-49 and 52 West.
