Eulogy for Hunter Bryce Thrun

Hunter Bryce Thrun

*Written with love for a life that shone so brightly*

The online guestbook

Hunter Bryce Thrun was a loving, kind, and thoughtful little boy who touched the hearts of everyone around him. Born to Richard Thrun and Samantha Leonard, Hunter was the oldest sibling, a role he took seriously and with great pride. He was a protector, a teacher, and a friend to his little siblings, Arya and Aiden, always keeping a close eye on them and reminding them to be kind and gentle. Hunter’s love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Hunter had a heart full of care and compassion. He was always looking out for his siblings, making sure they didn’t get into trouble or hurt each other. His manners were impeccable, and he was learning to talk quickly, proudly saying “apple juice” just the day before the tragic fire that took his life on March 1, 2025. Hunter hated being dirty and would diligently wipe himself clean after meals or spills, showing his thoughtful and meticulous nature.

Hunter loved the simple joys of life. He adored listening to his dad read him books, his eyes lighting up with every story. He was fascinated by trucks and dinosaurs, and his favorite color, green, reflected his vibrant and curious spirit. Like his brother Aiden, Hunter loved the show *Bluey*, and it brought him so much happiness.

Hunter’s love extended to his entire family. He was a sweet and caring son, brother, grandson, and friend. His family lovingly called him their “sweet little Hunny Bun,” a name that perfectly captured his gentle and loving nature. Hunter’s presence brought warmth and joy to every room, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

Though Hunter’s life was tragically cut short, his legacy of love, kindness, and care will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He taught us the importance of looking out for one another, of cherishing the little moments, and of finding joy in the world around us. Hunter Bryce Thrun will always be remembered as a bright light in this world, a little boy who loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.

Rest in peace, sweet Hunter. You will always be our “Hunny Bun,” and your memory will forever be a blessing.
