Carla Sue McClellan, 82 of Adrian

Carla Sue McClellan, 82 of Adrian, Missouri passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her home in Adrian.  A visitation will be held 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler.  Memorial services will follow at 7:00 pm Thursday, also at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be held privately at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri.  Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009).  Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research, American Heart Association, or the American Society.  Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

 Sue was born on July 27, 1942 in Yuba City, California. She was the daughter of Bill and Bea Morgan. Sue attended Central High School of Kansas City, Missouri through her sophomore year, then later obtained her GED and higher education from Florida University. She was married to Darryl Gene McClellan on November 4, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri. They built their early life in Independence, Missouri where they had 3 children; Pamela Rene, Paula Jean, and Mark Todd. In 1976 the family moved to Adrian, Missouri where she lived the remainder of her life.

Sue began her career in Dietary at Adrian Manor Nursing Home. In 1981 she was hired as the Dietary Manager for Cass Regional Medical Center. During her time at Cass she made lifelong friends and created many great memories. Sue’s passion for food and helping people carried her through her career at Cass until her retirement in December 2007.

Sue had many interests and hobbies. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader for Troop 519 for many years and the “Block Mom” for the small neighborhood they lived in. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adrian, then later in life attended Happy Hill Church of God. She loved shopping, craft festivals, shoes, butterflies, hummingbirds and Diet Coke. You could usually find Sue in one of two places; cooking in her kitchen, or in her camper at the lake. Her most treasured times were spent with friends and family; especially during Thanksgiving.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jerry Don and Billy J. Morgan Sr., nephew Billy J. “Butch” Morgan Jr., and son-in-law Wes Nieder. She was survived by; daughter Pamela Nieder; Paula J. McClellan; and son Mark McClellan and wife Kendra; grandchildren Jennifer Erickson and husband Mitchell, Madilyn McClellan, Trent Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Trevor Thompson, and Emily Thompson; great-grandchildren Liam Erickson, Gabriella Erickson, and Palmer Thompson; nephew James Marshall Morgan and family, and niece Jamie Yoder and husband David and family; and many other family and friends.
