Harrisonville Man Sentenced to 23 Years in Federal Prison

In March 2023, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, as part of the Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (WMICAC), initiated an investigation into possible child sexual abuse material.

In May 2023, investigators served a search warrant related to this case at a residence in Harrisonville. This resulted in the arrest of Rusty Fisher Jr.

Yesterday in the Federal Western District of Missouri, Fisher Jr. was sentenced on three counts of Production of Child Pornography. He will serve a term of 23 years in prison with 15 years of parole after the completion of his sentence, and he has been ordered to pay $33,000 in restitution.

The initial tips in this investigation were received from the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MOICAC).

During the investigation, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the United States Secret Service due to the volume of evidence and potential victims outside of Missouri.

The WMICAC Task Force is spearheaded by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and consists of personnel from agencies within Cass, Johnson, Bates, Henry, Saline, Lafayette, and Pettis counties. WMICAC is an affiliate of MOICAC.
