On Friday night just before 10:30, Cass County deputies responded to a call regarding a pursuit in Peculiar. The Peculiar Missouri Police Department was pursuing a car heading northbound on I-49 and J Highway.

Sheriff’s Deputies joined the pursuit at North Cass Parkway and caught up to
the vehicle near I-49 and 163rd St. in Belton. There, the Belton Missouri
Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device.
A short time
later, a deputy with the Criminal Apprehension Unit successfully grappled the
suspect’s vehicle at I-49 and 155th St. The suspect exited the vehicle without
incident and was arrested and was identified as 20-year-old Brady Waughtal of
Peculiar.
Waughtal has
been charged Aggravated Fleeing a Stop, which is a D Felony. He’s also been
charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner,
which is a Class B Misdemeanor. Waughtal is currently at the Cass County Jail
with a $50,000 cash only bond.
