On Thursday May 4th at approximately 8:09 pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Missouri 2 Highway at 271st Street in rural Cass County.
The Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the eastbound 2002 GMC driven by a 16-year-old juvenile male from Freeman, MO crossed the centerline of the highway into oncoming traffic and struck the westbound 2012 Ford driven by 66-year-old Cynthia L. Wasser of Ottawa, Kansas head on.
Cynthia L. Wasser was pronounced deceased at 8:26 pm and was transported by Frontier Medical. Three male juveniles in the GMC truck all sustained serious injuries and all three were transported to Kansas City area hospitals for treatment.
