The Adrian Community Library, 116 East Main, in Adrian will reopen with regular hours on June 15.  The Adrian Library  will be following safety regulations from the city, county, state, and federal government.  The following procedures will be considered the new level of service until public health authorities have declared that there is less danger from COVID-19.  With the size of our building, only five patrons will be inside for a limited time of 20 minutes.  Patrons are encouraged to wear masks, use sanitizer entering and leaving the building, sign in, choose up to five books and/or use the computer stations.  Computers will be for business only, e-mailing and viewing Facebook.  Games will not be allowed.  All returned books will be put in the ‘book drop box’, quarantined for 48 hours and cleaned before returning to the shelves.

The Adrian Library Story Time has been cancelled, however, a new ‘Summer Reading Program’ will be available for Pre-school through Grade 12.   Children will need to sign up on Monday afternoons for instruction of rules and to check out books.  Rewards will be given to each group of children as books are read and returned from June 15 through August 14.  This program will include all children and encourage students to read in preparation of starting school next fall.

The Mark Twain and Truman Award books for 2020-21 are available for checkout.  Many older books have been weeded out and new books for adults and children have been added.   The staff has spent much of our closure time wiping books and shelves and preparing to serve our community. The Adrian Library  Regular hours are Monday & Tuesday 2:00—6:00 and Wednesday-Friday 10:00 – 6:00.
