Adrian Optimist October Student of the Month

The Adrian Optimist Club is pleased to honor Students of the Month from the Miami, Ballard, and Adrian schools.  Criteria for this honor center on outstanding academic and civic achievement and school spirit.  Staff at each of the schools make the selection, and their decision is based on expansion of these criteria.   Selection is based on the criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task will come to play in it.  Each student is honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks”

For October the Miami Student of the Month is Destiny Roundy, a Senior.  Destiny is the daughter of Reality Roundy.  In school she is in Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, FCCLA, and FBLA. Outside of school Destiny is in Softball.  Destiny’s college plan is to major in criminal justice with a minor in child advocacy.  Miami staff state “Destiny is an all around great kid.  She has goals for herself and she works hard to obtain them.  She shows school spirit, is kind to underclassmen, classmates, and teachers.”

The Ballard Student of the Month is Lexie Ward, a Junior.  Lexie is the daughter of the late Beverly Ward and Mike Ward.  In school Lexie enjoys being a part of the Volleyball and Basketball teams.  Lexie’s outside activities are participating in local 4-H and hanging with friends.  Ballard staff say, “Lexie has really stepped up as the single editor of the publications class.  She has a lot of responsibility, making sure that she gets her articles done as well as putting the paper together each month.  Lexie never complains about the  workload she has to do.  She usually has a smile on her face and is polite to everyone in the halls.  She is a great role model for underclassmen as well as her fellow classmates. After graduation, Lexie plans to go to Cosmetology school.
