The Adrian Optimist Club is pleased to honor Students of the Month from the Miami, Ballard, and Adrian schools. Criteria for this honor center on outstanding academic and civic achievement and school spirit. Staff at each of the schools make the selection, and their decision is based on expansion of these criteria. Selection is based on the criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task will come to play in it. Each student is honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks”.
The Adrian Student of the Month is Senior, Mayci Cunningham, daughter of Matt and Julie Cunningham. In school, Mayci does community service in FBLA and participates in Basketball and Softball. She enjoys her church youth group and works in a group home. Mayci states, “A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action becomes reality.” Mayci plans to continue her education in community college, and then go to Missouri Southern for a degree as an athletic trainer. She hopes to attain her Masters degree in this field.
