Adrian Sight and Safety Night October 31st 5 pm until 7 pm. Two pumpkin carving categories for ages 12 and under and ages 13 and over. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Draw or carve your design on a pumpkin, bring it to the Lions Club Booth just east of the former Wimfield’s Restaurant. Deliver carved pumpkins between 5 and 6 pm to be judged. Treats on Main Street and donations of old eye glasses or chargeable cell phones with chargers. Sponsored by the Adrian Lions Club. That’s Sight and Safety night in Adrian 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 31st.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
