The Clinton School District is proud to announce it has selected Alex Johnson as Activities Director for Clinton High School starting with the 2021-2022 school year. Johnson was selected as the top candidate after two rounds of interviews, including a panel of Clinton School District staff members.

During his time in education, Mr. Johnson has coached football, track, cross country, and basketball, taught Strength and Conditioning and has overseen many fine arts and other extracurricular activities. As Special Teams Coordinator for the Socorro Warrior Football Program, Johnson played a key part in his team’s District Championship and State Runner-Up finish in the New Mexico Activities Association AAA Classification. As Head Boys Varsity Track Coach, Johnson has also led his Warriors to Back-to-Back District Championships while qualifying 20+ athletes for state competition. Throughout the interview process it was evident that his strength is in building positive relationships with all stakeholders. Mr. Johnson also has a passion for character development for students and professional development for coaches and sponsors to improve the culture of schools. Johnson wants to build upon these things to help make Clinton activities competitive in the MRVC West Conference.

I personally look forward to meeting everyone as soon as possible and I am excited to get to work and start building relationships with the students, teachers, staff, and community members. Go Cardinals!”
