BATES COUNTY, Mo In the tradition of giving back to the community started by Judge John O’Bannon, Judge Julie Highley and friends continue this holiday tradition when they come together on Thanksgiving Day and prepare a Thanksgiving Feast with all the trimmings at the Butler Senior Center.
Many times the elderly are alone on Thanksgiving or not able to cook for themselves and this is an opportunity for a great meal and people to share it with.
Judge Highley and friends prepare the meal but if you would contribute towards this meal they are in need of desserts and pies. According to Judge Highley If you would like to contribute this year with dessert, take them to the Butler Senior Center either on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
Meals will also be delivered to Butler, Adrian and Rich Hill to those individuals that are currently on the list to have meals delivered to them. If you are not on this list but need one delivered, then call the Butler Senior Center at 660-679-5830 and let them know you would like to have Thanksgiving lunch delivered to you.
A big thank you to Judge Highley and friends for sharing their Thanksgiving holiday by cooking for others, it is a job well done.
