July 16, 2020

Bates County Health Center has confirmed another positive case of COVID-19 in Bates County.

The case is a male in his 30’s that resides in Butler and is a household contact of a current positive case.  Per CDC guidelines, this individual has been quarantined since the household member was determined to be positive and he will remain in isolation until released.  This individual has contacted anyone he was in contact with that may be at risk and they have been advised of quarantine guidelines.

Please remember if there is no risk for any community transmission found through the investigation, nothing is released.

At this time, Bates County has had 24 positives cases, 6 of which are currently active.

With our numbers for Bates County rising, we hope everyone will continue to practice social distancing, clean/disinfect any high touched surfaces, wash their hands with soap and water routinely, use hand sanitizer if soap and water is not available and avoid touching your face (especially eyes, nose & mouth).  Wearing a mask in public is also encouraged.  It is up to each and every one of us to stop the spread of this disease!
