Web Soil Survey Maps are available for view or print. These maps were created by Soil Conservation Service (now Natural Resource Conservation Service) soil scientists mapping each county and are amazingly accurate.  Here are the steps to go through the process:   Go to: Click the green button – Start WSS.  Use Quick Navigation on the left to find your location; one option is selecting state and county and then clicking on your location on the map repeatedly to enlarge.  Once you have your location enlarged, go to the bar at the top of the map and click the rectangle AOI (area of interest) button.  Then click on a corner of your property and drag the box to cover your farm.  Click on the Soil Map tab at the top.  This gives you a soil map and lists the types of soil.  Each soil type is a link to a detailed soil description.  Go to the upper right and click on Printable Version to print a map. Then click View and then Print.  You can go through the Add To Shopping Cart process to get a link (free) so you can send a link for the map to someone.  Be aware that the link is only good for a short time.  A YouTube video of MU Extension agronomy field specialist, Pat Miller  going through  the process is available at:  If you have questions, contact Miller at 417-448-2560 or
