Structure Fire in Butler/August 10 – Update

Rich Hill and Butler Fire Departments were dispatched to 208 West Chestnut Street in Butler for a structure fire on August 10th at 10:21am.

The fire burned the home of a local woman and her three young children. The children are a 7 year old girl, a 3 year old boy, and a 12 month girl.  Brittany Stephens (the woman) and her children were not harmed, but the family did lose a pet. In addition, the fire consumed the entire home, and the family lost everything.

The family is in need of all personal hygiene and clothing. The clothing sizes are listed below:

Mothers and fathers in our community understand what is needed to take care of young children. Losing everything in a house fire is devastating, so as a community let’s come together to help this family.

Donations can be dropped off on Monday through Thursday 8am to 5pm at the West Central Community Action Agency in Butler, which is located at 4 West Ohio Street on the Second Floor. Donations may be dropped off KMOE Radio at 800 East Nursery Street in Butler anytime. If no one is available leave donations by the front door in the entry way
