The Bates County Coroner’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident today shortly after noon. The accident occurred on East 52 Highway just east of the intersection with St. Rt. O in southeastern Bates County.
A 62 year-old gentleman died in the accident and was pronounced at the scene by Coroner Greg Mullinax. Because family members are still being notified, the name of the deceased will be withheld at this time pending those notifications. The accident remains under investigation and additional details will be available later.
