The Bates County Career Women’s Forum will be held on Saturday, September 28th at the Happy Hill Church of God on South Main Street in Butler. Registration begins at 8:30am with a full morning of activities from 9am to noon.
The theme this year is “Beautifully Rooted” with four local speakers sharing their inspiring and enlightening experiences of friendship, support and both physical and emotional healing. Featured this year is Doncella Wright Liggins, daughter of Walter Wright and the late Mildred Wright, and Beverly Burch, daughter of Willard and Maureen Bettels, both who grew up in Butler. They will be sharing their story of the miracle of life-changing organ donations and how it affected their lives.
Sara and Jeff Vick will also explain about Lily’s House and Lily’s Pad in Adrian, which helps troubled young mothers.
Tickets to the Women’s Forum are $20 and sold in advance only. They are available from any BCCW member or by calling Alice Jennings at 660-679-3727, or stop by DSWA CPS’s or What to Wear in Butler. There will be a catered brunch, and several businesses are providing door prizes and financial sponsorship.
