The Bates County Clerk is seeking persons to serve as election judges for the April 4th municipal election and future elections. You must be a registered voter, enjoy serving the public and endure long hours on election days. Duties include preparing the polling place, checking in voters, maintaining a secure election process, and closing the polls. Election judges are paid a minimum of $175.00 per election, $20.00 for the training session, and mileage. If interested, contact the County Clerk’s Office at 660-679-3371. Per Missouri statutes you will be asked which major political party you will be representing on election day. |

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
