Today, Oct. 24, 2019 Bates County Coroner, Greg Mullinax was called to a field behind a rural residence southeast of Butler at approximately 1:09 PM.
A short time later officers of the Bates County Sheriff’s Office took the Bates County Coroner to a location where they had found a deceased male. Officers had been diligently searching the area for a missing person.
The deceased is identified as Rexford L. Hurshman. Although foul play is not suspected, the cause of Mr. Hurshman’s death remains under investigation at this time. The Coroner will provide additional information in due time.
