The Bates County Fair Board is now looking for the 2023 Bates County Fair Queen and Princess candidates. Requirements are posted on the Fair Facebook Page and the 92.1 News Now page. The Bates County Fair candidates will have the chance to win the Fair Queen or Fair Princess title, crown, and money. All candidates will have the chance to earn 10 percent of their total ticket sales. All candidates must pre-register with Lacey Lee at 660-464-4732. There is an informative meeting on June 2nd at 6:00 pm at the Bates County Fairgrounds.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
