Bates County Health Department Identifies Another Positive COVID-19 Case

July 14, 2020

The Bates County Health Center has confirmed another positive case of COVID-19 in Bates County.

The case is a female in her 30’s that resides in Adrian.  Bates County Health Center has completed its investigation with her assistance to identify and contact anyone that may have come in contact with this individual which may have put them at risk and will monitor them for any signs and symptoms of illness.  Per CDC guidelines, this individual is isolated at home and any close contacts have been instructed on self-quarantine protocols.

With all cases if the individual only had contact with family members or friends in private settings and no activity putting anyone at risk for community transmission there is nothing to release.  During the initial investigation if the individual reports they have not been anywhere in the community since symptoms began or since testing there is nothing to release to the public.

At this time, Bates County has had 20 positives cases, 6 of which are currently active.

With our numbers for Bates County rising, we hope everyone will continue to practice social distancing, clean/disinfect any high touched surfaces, wash their hands with soap and water routinely, use hand sanitizer if soap and water is not available and avoid touching your face (especially eyes, nose & mouth).  Wearing a mask in public is also encouraged.  It is up to each and everyone of us to stop the spread of this disease!
