Reminder: Bates County Memorial Hospital is NOT a designated tornado shelter. Please do not use the hospital as your go-to shelter in the event of severe weather.
Now is the time to make a plan for your family in case of a tornado or severe thunderstorm. Going to a designated shelter in severe weather is allowed under the Bates County Public Health Emergency Order: “Individuals may leave their residences or place of rest only to perform “Essential Activities,” including: To seek shelter from a severe thunderstorm and/or tornado to the extent necessary to preserve safety and ensuring they return to their place of resident or place of rest as soon as possible.”
