MELISSA LANCASTER is recognized as the Bates County Memorial Hospital Employee of the Month for June, 2020. Missy began her employment as a Registered Nurse in the Family Care Clinics in July, 2017. Missy’s years of previous experience in public health provided valued knowledge during the COVID-19 pandemic. Missy put her public health nurse skills to work immediately. She was instrumental in assisting the providers and staff in developing proper procedures to care for our patients safely. Missy is always ready to share her knowledge and experience in a calm, reassuring manner, always acting as an advocate for our patients. Missy is a valuable team member to our clinics.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
