Bates County Personal Property Tax Deadline

A reminder for those of you that haven’t paid your Personal Property Taxes, the deadline to pay in person will be Friday, December 30th at 4:30 pm.

Those paying by mail face a December 31st postmark deadline.
To guarantee a post office postmark, remember the Butler Post office lobby window is open from 9:30 am until 11:30 am on Saturday, December 31st. Anything put into the outside drop box after 11:30 am will be postmarked with a January 1st postmark and your taxes will be considered late.

Personal Property Taxes can be paid in person or placed into the outdoor drop box located on the east side of the Administrative building. The Bates County Collector’s Office will be closed on Saturday. The drop box will be checked for mail at midnight on December 31st.

Keep in mind that any mail from the outside mailbox at the post office after 11:30 am will have a postmark date of January 1st and those late tax payments will be subject to fines.

The deadline to pay your personal property taxes to avoid penalties is Saturday, December 31st at midnight. Payments can be left in the outside drop box at the Administrative building on the Southwest Corner of the Butler Square.
