On December 31, 2019 a Bates County Sheriff’s Deputy took a report of a theft. The victim stated that within the last two weeks he has had 25 to 27 round bales of hay stolen from a property located on County Road 13004 where he had the hay stored.
The victim gave the Deputy a name of a person he believed to have stolen the hay. This person had a similar number of bales show up on his property. When the person was questioned, he stated that he had bought the hay off of the internet. The investigation is currently pending on this case.
