BCMH to Sponsor Community Health Fair on September 17

In celebration of its 62nd anniversary, Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) will host a Community Health Fair on Saturday, September 17. The event will be held in the hospital’s front lobby from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The day will include screenings, free breakfast, giveaways, a drawing for a free Calcium Score, tours of emergency service vehicles including Life Flight Eagle.

The hospital will offer screenings at the health fair that may alert an individual to a health issue they were unaware of, and/or prevent a more damaging health event from occurring. These screenings will be performed on the day of the health fair:

  • FREE Skin Cancer checks of the head and neck courtesy of BCMH Physicians
  • FREE Carpal Tunnel screening courtesy of Rehabilitation Services
  • FREE Hearing tests courtesy of Angela Fyffe, AuD
  • FREE Blood Pressure and SpO2
  • Cholesterol and Vitamin D, combined labs for $10 (fasting labs)
  • Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) for $20 (fasting labs)
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) – $35

Bates County Memorial Hospital is also offering the following discounted health screenings through Imaging Services. Individuals may sign up and prepay on the day of the health fair to receive discounts and – if radiology staff can’t get to everyone on the day of the fair – attendees may schedule an appointment for a future date:

  • CT Heart Scan/Calcium Score – $79
  • Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) – $40
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) – $35
  • Carotid Artery – $60
  • Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm (AAA) – $60
  • Bundle and SAVE when you schedule for all these tests: ABI, EKG, Carotid Artery, and AAA – $160

Payment will be required on the day of the health fair by cash, check or credit card. Insurance will not be billed. Learn more about the benefits of these health screenings, and how to receive your test results, at https://www.bcmhospital.com/health-fair/
