Bonnie Aletha Hobson Hutchins age 81 passed away on January 28, 2021 in her home town of Fort Collins, Colorado. She was originally from the Bates County area and attended school in Rich Hill and Hume. Bonnie was the daughter of Jim and Wilma Hobson and one of 6 kids along with siblings Howard, Joann, John, Ronnie, and Marilyn. Bonnie married Max Hutchins who survives of the home. Services for Bonnie are currently pending and will be announced at a later date.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
