| The Butler City Wide Garage Sale date is Saturday, May 14th. The deadline to get your garage sale registered will be Monday, May 2nd for your name and address to be on the citywide maps. Permits are $10 dollars per garage sale. Junk in the Trunk will cost $5.00 per space and will be due the morning of the Garage Sale. Junk in the Trunk Garage Sales may set up in any inner parking spot around the inside of the Butler square. More details later, see the Butler Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for more information. Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
